Griffin Evolve
The Griffin Evolve is a seriously cool speaker system. There are a few wireless speaker systems on the market but they mainly require using a computer to stream the music. This means that the computer needs to be on. The Griffin Evolve is a wireless iPod speaker system and offers a truly wireless experience. The other problem with a lot of the “wireless” speaker systems currently available is that they actually introduce a whole host of other wires. This is really the answer for those looking for a portable speaker system for the home.
Taking the wireless factor out of the equation for a moment, the Griffin Evolve is a seriously good looking piece of kit. They offer a well balanced design that really complements the design classic looks of your iPod.
You put your iPod in the main Griffin Evolve dock and can then move the speakers where ever you want in your house. It really is as simple as that. There are two speakers that each contains their own rechargeable battery that give you 10 hours of playing time. It is simple to recharge the speakers, you simply place them back in their dock. It only takes around 3 - 4 hours to fully charge the speakers and they can be used while they are being charged.
It may be a sunny day and you want to listen in the garden or you just want a speaker in two different rooms, just pick them up and move them. The Griffin Evolve lets you do this without having to move any wires or the iPod dock itself. Griffin state that the speakers have a range of around 150 feet of the main station and it is not far off that. The connection is excellent and maintains well. You have the option of using them in stereo mode or mono. If you choose mono then you can have both speakers in different rooms but offering the same sound to both. Great for a party!
Each speaker has its own individual power button. They will automatically turn themselves off after an hour of no activity to conserve power. Or you can manually switch them off yourself.
As well as being fantastically practical, the Griffin Evolve also produces a great quality sound. It offers a crisp and clean sound as well as a good, thumpy bass.
The Griffin Evolve is a welcome addition to any house and if you can’t afford to get a sound system wired into your house for thousands, this is the next best thing!
